Florida Travel: Snapper Fishing
23. June 2008

Snapper fishing is a very popular activity in Florida. This is particularly true along the Southwest shores of Florida. The sapphire blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico are famous for their aquatic bounty. Seasoned and novice anglers alike find snapper fishing in these waters to be extremely lucrative and terrifically fun.
Snapper Fishing in Florida
Red snapper are very distinguished looking fish. Ranging in size anywhere from five to 30 pounds, snapper are known most for the pinkish red hue that tints their entire body, as well as for their long triangular snout. If you are hoping to catch some snapper, your best bet is to charter a boat off the coast of South Florida. There, snapper fish are not only abundant but prove to be quite worthy opponents!
Snappers are bottom feeders and have been known to prefer depths of anywhere from 50 to 300 feet. Not partial to any one type of food, snappers will eat just about anything. If you are looking to score a big fish, youll need to find one that is more mature. The problem is that mature snappers prefer deeper, cooler waters. So you had better get out that long rod!
Catching a snapper in Florida is somewhat a rite of passage for serious anglers. Should you be fortunate enough to nab yourself a big one and wish to keep it, you had better have a good recipe in hand. Nothing is better, in my opinion, than a delicious meal of fresh snapper. Nothing that is, other than a humane catch and release.

Florida Travel: South Florida Vacations
22. June 2008

South Florida vacations are lots of fun. Whether you are with the entire family or that special someone, vacations in South Florida are relaxing, rejuvenating, and truly enjoyable. From the quiet beaches of Marco Island to the exciting communities in and about the Keys, South Florida is something everyone should experience at least once.
South Florida Vacations Are Fun for Everyone
The thing I like most about South Florida is its versatility. Whether your vacation preferences lean toward the world-famous Miami shoreline or the obscure beaches near Floridas Ten Thousand Island community, there truly is something for every liking. And whats more, there is something for every budget. For people who are pinching pennies, places like Marco Island, Florida offer terrific deals on beach front rentals, island activities, and more.
When I vacation in South Florida, I almost always head to the Keys. With its white sand beaches and crystal clear emerald waters, the Key West is my favorite place to vacation and unwind. Contrary to popular belief, Key West has a great deal of history. One of my favorite things to do while Im there is take the history trolley tour. Its surprisingly fun and very cheap.
If you are looking for a place to take a nice relaxing vacation, then I recommend South Florida. Having grown up there, I speak from experience when I say that there is no place quite like it. Warm, relaxed, and cost effective, South Florida vacations are fun for people of all ages and wallets of all sizes.

Florida Travel: Southwest Florida Vacation Rentals
21. June 2008

Southwest Florida vacation rentals are very easy to find. Cost effective Southwest Florida vacation rentals are another issue entirely. As someone who loves to vacation in Florida but doesnt always have a large amount of money to spend, I have mastered the art of bargain hunting and vacation deal finding. I would like to take this opportunity to offer some cost effective vacation tips that I hope you will find useful.
Cost Effective Southwest Florida Vacation Rentals
If you want to take a tropical vacation but dont have a great deal of money to spend, then I strongly recommend you consider heading to Southwest Florida. Although South Florida is probably best known for its big spender vacation hot spots such as Ft. Lauderdale and South Beach, there are plenty of South Florida getaways that arent so hard on the wallet. Marco Island, Florida is one of these places.
Although its a mere 20 minutes from Naples and an hour and a half outside of Miami, Marco Island doesnt carry the hefty price tag as does its celebrated neighbors. Quite the contrary, actually! For the price of most high-end Miami hotel rooms, Ive found spectacular beach house rentals on Marco Island. I dont know about you, but I would much rather spend my vacation in a secluded beach house on Marco Island than a tiny hotel room in crowded Miami Beach.
If you want to experience a wonderful trip that you will remember for a lifetime but dont want to spend a lifetime paying for it, then I recommend that you consider South Florida. Places like Marco Island and Key Largo offer terrific bargains and vacation deals. All you have to do is look.

Florida Travel: Sunny Vacations
20. June 2008
admin
Sunny vacations make for the best vacations. I dont know about you, but nothing relaxes and rejuvenates my spirit better than a week or so in a warm, sunny spot. Whether its Hawaii, Florida, the Bahamas, or California, any vacation location that offers sun, rest, and relaxation ranks high in my book.
Sunny Vacations on a Budget
Sunny holidays are the best vacations money can buy. I dont know about you, but cold weather has never been something Ive liked. Sure, skiing and snowboarding can be fun, but when it comes to a real vacation I head straight to the beach. For me, nothing makes me happier than soft warm sand and a good book.
Unfortunately, many people make the mistake of believing that sunny vacations are out of their financial reach. While this might be true of some popular hot spots, there are plenty of cost effective vacation destinations around. Take Marco Island, Florida for instance. A small barrier island of Floridas southern coast, Marco Island offers warm tranquil waters, soft white sand, and a relaxing tropical atmosphere all at a terrific price.
Look, I know first hand how difficult family vacations can be on a tight budget. Fortunately, there are places like Marco Island where you can go and have a wonderful time without breaking the bank. Whether you choose to play in the water all day, go deep sea fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, or just lounge around on the beach for a week, Marco Island can accommodate.

Florida Travel: Tarpon Fishing
19. June 2008
admin
Tarpon fishing, snapper fishing, and barracuda fishing are all popular activities off the southern coast of Florida. Depending on the season, one can expect to see hundreds (if not thousands) of anglers casing their lines in the hopes of catching one of these spectacular fish. As someone who thoroughly enjoys fishing, I always plan ahead when traveling to Florida in order to get the best charters and the most experienced guides.
Tarpon Fishing off Marco Island
Florida is a beautiful state with all sorts of places to fish. Whether your preference is open ocean water or you like backcountry fishing, you can bet that Florida can accommodate. The problem is that Floridas fishing versatility isnt exactly a well kept secret. Anglers come for miles to participate in tarpon fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, barracuda fishing in the keys, and more.
The key to smart fishing in Florida is finding a place that isnt overrun with dozens of other visiting anglers hoping to make a catch. For me, Marco Island is that place. Located on the Floridas southwest coast, Marco Island is the largest inhabited isle of Floridas famous Ten Thousand Island community. With so many small barrier islands dotting the Gulf coast, there is always a place for a hopeful fisherman (or woman) to escape.
If you love to fish and are looking for a new and fruitful place to cast your line, I recommend you head out to Marco Island. With dozens of local charter companies and expert guides on hand to give you some help, I guarantee that if you plan ahead and make your reservations early, you will have a wonderful time. Whether your preference is amberjack fishing or cobia fishing, Marco Island can accommodate.
